Intuitive control of MAN trucks won the Red Dot Award

The new generation of cars received a prestigious award in the Design and Communication category MAN earned the practical and user-friendly design of the driver's workplace.

The 24 members of the international jury were particularly interested in the layout of the workplace with regard to the needs of the driver, the layout of the displays and controls, but also the whole main idea of ​​the vehicle project. MAN new generation.

Everything revolves around the driver

During the development of a new generation MAN vehicles from theory to real practice. MAN wanted to develop vehicles in which the driver's workplace would exactly match his needs, be easy to operate, intuitive and as safe as possible. And how best to find out what the driver really needs? Just ask!

And that's exactly what MAN did: the company involved more than 700 real drivers in the workplace development and design process.

The result of the cooperation is worth it

The resulting workplace concept is designed so that the driver does not have to distract from the road: visual information is therefore placed directly so that it can be read without looking away from the road. All controls are then easily accessible directly from the seat and the workplace also includes a 12,3 ”display of the information and navigation system. Comfort and the importance of relaxation were also considered: the comfort and entertainment functions can be controlled remotely directly from the bed.
